DADDY MATTY'S 1ST ANNUAL SMOKE-OFF

EVENT DETAILS:

3 Meat Smoke-off Competition. See if you can beat Daddy Matty. To be judged at the end. Winner receives trophy, bragging rights, and free t-shirt. Daddy Matty’s BBQ will provide ribs and chicken. Third meat entry is competitor’s choice (Bring your own - quantity will be specified). Use Daddy Matty’s smokers, or bring your own.

The event is open to the public to come watch, eat, and play cornhole. BYOB. Wristbands will be sold at the door for $25 for adults, $5 for kids (12 and under) for BBQ buffet, from lunch until dinner., 11:30am - 8 pm. Extra plates with samples from the competition will be given out when donations are made to the Food Pantry. The event benefits the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County.

TIMELINE:
10:30 am - Light up the smokers
5:30 pm - Cooking finished
6:00 pm - Judging
6:30 pm - Sampling

Buffet- 11:30am - 8 pm

Tell us: What makes you think that you have what it takes to beat Daddy Matty?:All bark, all bite. I’ve been perfecting my rubs and injections in my back yard for 4 years. Low and slow, hot and fast; on my WSM or Assasin gravity fed, I’m ready to throw down!

How long have you been BBQ-ing, and tell us something about your favorite BBQ to prepare:I’ve been bbqing for 6 years and 4 years pretty seriously but have yet to compete. Love all things bbq and am just a dork when it comes to consuming bbq content online. My favorite thing to prepare is definitely baby back ribs. 3-2-1 method with a nice sweet - heat rub. Nice bite through and slight tug as you pull it off the bone with meat that’s tender as anything.
