Daddy Matty's BBQ 1st Annual Smoke-Off Competition

Daddy Matty’s BBQ held their 1st Annual Smoke-off Competition on April 27, 2019. It was an excellent day, filled with skilled competitors, talented judges, great tunes and a hungry community of BBQ fans!

These were the event details:

3 Meat Smoke-off Competition. See if you can beat Daddy Matty. To be judged at the end. Winner receives trophy, bragging rights, and free t-shirt. Daddy Matty’s BBQ will provide ribs and chicken. Third meat entry is competitor’s choice (Bring your own - quantity will be specified). Use Daddy Matty’s smokers, or bring your own.

The event is open to the public to come watch, eat, and play cornhole. BYOB. Wristbands will be sold at the door for $25 for adults, $5 for kids (12 and under) for BBQ buffet, from lunch until dinner., 11:30am - 8 pm. Extra plates with samples from the competition will be given out when donations are made to the Food Pantry. The event benefits the Interfaith Food Pantry of Morris County.

TIMELINE:
10:30 am - Light up the smokers
5:30 pm - Cooking finished
6:00 pm - Judging
6:30 pm - Sampling

Congratulations to all the competitors - best chicken went to Sherif Fahmy, best ribs to Craig Russ, best chef's choice entry to Matt James aka Daddy Matty, and best overall, and recipient of the coveted 1st annual smoke-off trophy, to Matt Gann. Special thanks to Hatchet Jack for providing the rockin' entertainment, and to our awesome judges Rich Peluso Elite Homes Group, Chris Brinkofski, Nick Mangold, Dave Drovandi, and Carolyn Lake! And of course to the Daddy Matty's team for all of their efforts.
